Multiple Ways

Daily writing prompt
How do you express your gratitude?

Showing gratitude is always difficult for me. I’m not really good with words (even though I’m a writer!). I’m the kind that’s always to-the-point, so a simple “Thank you,” is probably what I’ll say, but it makes me feel guilty. I’m always left thinking I could do more.

However, when I have some time on hand to do some thinking I’ll either buy a gift or make a gift. It might be a painting, photos I’ve printed, an item purchased for them (usually something they’ve always wanted), a gift card, etc. If they are starting a business and they had asked me for advice or guidance, I’ll purchase some of their items. It all depends on how well I know them too.

I’m not the greatest when it comes to gratitude though. I often forget and then by the time I remember, it’s already some years later. I try my best though, and I think that counts.

  1. 💛 This is such a real and honest reflection. Gratitude doesn’t always have to be loud or poetic—your thoughtfulness and intentional giving speak volumes. Trying your best does count, and your quiet efforts probably mean more than you realize.
