Welcome to my blog. Grab yourself a warm cup of tea (or coffee) and make yourself comfortable.
My name is Leigh and I’ve been a blogger for a very long time. I love writing, art, and beautiful things, and enjoy sharing it with the world.
My blog has come a long ways. It started off as a photography blog, then design and art blog, then back to photography. Somewhere in there, I got hooked on reading. I was always a reader but in 2013, I believe, I was going through some difficult times and reading helped immensely. I’ve then started reviewing the books I read on Goodreads.com and have continued to do so to this day. I have also added book reviews to this blog. I haven’t been very good at it but my goal is to include reviews on all the books I read going forward. I still have a love for crafting and scrapbooking, and have added planning (bullet journaling) to my list of hobbies, but reading consumes the majority of my time.
It was in 2008 that I joined WordPress and it’s been the longest blogging platform I’ve been with. Before that, I used a hosting company…can’t remember the name of the company but they probably don’t exist anymore. And, before that, it was Live Journal and Angelfire.
I started blogging as a way to deal with the stresses of college life. It was my sanctuary—my safe place to express myself. As time passed, it became a place to share my creativity and parts of my life.
Writing has always been a passion of mine since I was twelve. I have a few notebooks full of stories stashed somewhere in the basement. I wrote fiction and nonfiction (in diaries/journals). My first full length fiction novel idea started during my last couple of years in high school. As life happened, I’ve had to put the story aside. Even then, I was able to write a few paragraphs here and there throughout the ups and downs of family life. During my graduate program, I completed the story for my capstone project. I hope to have it published some day. In the meantime, I’ve had two published stories and continue to write fiction for publication.
Please enjoy your stay and come back anytime.
