In 2021, my husband, youngest daughter, and I went chasing the northern lights in Wyoming. It was a four hour drive where we stayed in a hotel in hopes we could get a glimpse of these ethereal flames. However, it was cloudy that night so we didn’t get to see anything.
Last night, the northern lights came to us. We were able to capture them from our front porch (see the last three photos). Colorado wasn’t really listed as one of the states that would be viewable, but we were able to.
Husband and I decided to drive down the road to where it was darker so we could see them better. What we saw was amazing.

This angle was taken front our driveway facing north.

Another north facing view.

Seeing the northern lights was one of my life goals (or bucket list), and seeing them yesterday felt like I’ve accomplished that goal. The nice thing was that I didn’t have to travel very far. So, because of that, I’m still going to make it a goal to see them from a different place or country.
The northern lights are viewable later tonight as well, between 10pm and 2am. My brother mentioned that there’s also going to be a shooting star shower, the Taurids meteor shower, which will be viewable between midnight and pre-dawn.
