This story is about the fall of a quick friendship. Lucy is the main character. She’s just been divorced and was looking for a female friend, someone with similar interests. She found one in a woman named Elle, and they hooked up right away. They even gave each other cutesy nicknames. The friendship took a nosedive quickly where Lucy learns that she didn’t need to make a new best friend to be happy.
I think the point of the story was to not hook up with new people too fast after something as serious as a divorce. However, I think even if Lucy was still married, she could still have become friends with Elle and have the same situation happen. Everything that happened to Lucy could have happened when she was married, actually. So, I’m not sure it was a well-thought-out story.
Who should read this book: Anyone who enjoys women’s fiction.
