The three D’s of leadership: directing, discussing, and delegating, are steps to achieving the outcome you want as a leader in the workforce as well as in the home as parents to children. Author, Paul B. Thornton makes the steps easy to understand. The tools are beneficial for anyone who is in a leadership position or who wants to become a leader. It’s also an excellent tool for parents.
I like how Thornton breaks down each of the D’s and explains that you don’t need to use all of them all the time. You only need to use the tool that will benefit your work environment or the situation at hand. An important part of this is knowing your employees and understanding their needs and what they are good at.
This is a great book to get started on how to manage and how to be a great leader.
Who should read this book: Anyone interested in becoming a better leader and/or better parent.
