Rating (1-didn’t like; 5-excellent): 4.5

The movie wasn’t bad. I liked it more than I anticipated but I still think there was a lot that could have been better. Tom Blyth, the guy who played the main character was excellent. He felt like he was the actual character. I think he was the best thing about the movie. Rachel Zegler, the girl who played Lucy Gray Baird was okay. I felt like she was acting as Lucy instead of actually being that character. However, I enjoyed her singing. I think she’s an excellent singer. Peter Dinklage played Casca Highbottom and he was fine in it, but he reminded me of A Game of Thrones. So, every time they showed his scene, it felt like I was right back at A Game of thrones. Viola Davis played a pretty good Dr. Volumnia Gaul, the game maker.

The movie didn’t follow the book as closely as I had hoped. You can read my book review here where I sort of explained what happened in the story. Overall, I enjoyed the movie. I liked the setting and the costume. I also enjoyed the soundtrack.

Who should watch this movie: If you’re a fan of The Hunger Games Trilogy or if you enjoy dystopian movies, this one is worth watching.
