This story follows a girl named Cheri as she, along with a few others, try to figure out the magic that’s supposedly hidden. This magic is supposed to do something, but I can’t recall what. I don’t think it was ever mentioned.

I downloaded this book because of the pretty cover, but it was hard to get into the story. It took time to pick up, and when it did, it felt all over the place. The urban setting, the country/village-like setting, the fairytale setting, etc. I had a hard time trying to imagine an actual place because nothing was fully described. I didn’t get any apple in the story. I may have missed this too. There was just a lot of vagueness that made it hard to focus. I think it had potential because I liked the Jack Frost character, but the mish-mash was just too much.

Who should read this book: Anyone who enjoys a mishmash of settings with some fairytale.
