This book provides another way to look at our world and especially the American political system as far as who is really in charge. Author, Jason M. Hanania takes us further than what we’re allowed to know from the news, and possibly our educational system, and created this book to provide brief clips of corrupted situations within our political system as they apply to wars and democracy.

There is a lot of information in this book and quite a lot is based on the CIA and its role during the different wars and leaders in power. I tend to take political books with a grain of salt because I’ve had many experiences where the stories are changed throughout history. I’ve learned and understood things one way just to be told it wasn’t that way and then changed again. Once you’ve been through a few of those instances, you kind of lose trust in what is the truth. However, it’s not all at a loss. I think this book is still worthy of a read because if any of the topics interests you, you can then do more research on it. I personally am interested in some of the topics that I was not aware of and will look further into them.

My only wish with this book is that I wanted more details about some of the topics. Some of them were so short that I really couldn’t get what the point or purpose of that situation was. Without enough information, I didn’t feel as though I could agree or disagree with the topic. Also, I wanted to at least read something about the Benghazi situation. Unfortunately, that wasn’t in the book, but I still got a lot out of the book and enjoyed it.

Who should read this book: Anyone interested in seeing our political system from a different angle.
