The Creator is a sci-fi dystopian movie about artificial intelligence. The U.S. blames New Asia for a nuclear explosion in Los Angeles, CA and is out to stop them from creating more AI because they believe it was the AI that caused the explosion. In New Asia, the people have learned to transfer consciousness to AI to continue the life of those they loved. They treat these AI as humans because in essence, they are.

The story is about Joshua, an ex-special forces agent, who is told to hunt down the person or creator who developed the weapon that could kill all of mankind. Joshua takes the job but what he finds isn’t what he expected. His loyalty is tested and he comes to understand the real truth of it all.

This was a well-made movie. The visuals/cinematography was top-notch. The music was great, and the acting was pretty good. I didn’t expect to enjoy this movie as much as I did. I remember vaguely seeing a trailer of this movie and didn’t think much about it. My husband wanted to take me on a movie date, but we brought our teenage daughter along because she had also wanted to see this movie. We all loved it. I’m surprised I wasn’t as hyped about this movie when I saw the trailer, but once I saw the movie, I ended up just praising it.

Who should watch this movie: If you love an action-packed future dystopian movie or if you enjoyed movies like District 9 and The Terminator, you’ll enjoy this one.
