If money didn’t matter, I would own a bookstore. I’d give it a vintage look and have stairs leading to a second floor. I would need lots of money to purchase a bookstore and all the books, and I don’t have that, so I’ll continue to dream.

I would work as a librarian at a large library. I don’t just want to be an assistant. I want to be the librarian. I want to have all the answers for anyone who has a question. I did some researching and to be a librarian, I would need a MLIS degree (Master of Library and Information Science). I have my MA in creative writing and I’m not interested in going for another masters or another degree. So, this will be a pipe dream.

I would own a cafe in a cozy and quaint town somewhere in the world. I don’t do well with caffeine and I have no clue how to make fancy lattes and cappuccinos, but I could hire the right people to do it. Of course, this too is just a dream because it would be too expensive and I’m also happy where I live.
Life is full of choices and I’ve always liked what Robert Frost said in his poem, The Road Not Taken:
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I feel like life can take so many directions and we choose the one we think would be best for us in that moment. Sometimes, things work out, and sometimes they don’t. When they don’t, we often wonder how life would have been like if we had chosen the “other road.” Robert Frost’s poem is about reflecting and remembering the choices we’ve made. They are neither right nor wrong choices because either way, you’ll end up where you should be anyway.
But, it’s always fun to dream.
OMG!! I would totally live to have a a café and a bookstore. That is also my dream! I love to read, so of course I do.
