The best online classes I’ve ever taken were Wilna Furstenberg’s.
It started with a color theory class of hers I took as part of an online course. I liked her work so much that I went looking for more, which led me to her Art to Heart class and then her Artventure.
What I loved most about her classes is that they pushed me to be vulnerable with myself, to dig deep and find the things that give my life meaning. Most of my pages are private and were never meant to be shared, so it was hard to find ones I could post here.
Her pages are mixed media through and through: watercolor washes, texture paste pushed through stencils, paint splatter, die-cuts, doilies, stickers, and lots of handwritten journaling. Each page is built around one big word or idea, with a photo at its heart.
These first two are from Art to Heart.

Trust is all texture and color, stenciled roses in white paste, splattered paint, and a little flight of paper butterflies.

December Intentions was a page of words I wanted to hold onto that month: pray, celebrate, grace, forgive, find peace, create magic, be kind, each with a few handwritten lines about what it meant to me.
These two are from her Artventure, made in April 2017.
Both are letters to my girls, written straight onto the page around their photos.
I still flip through these binders, and they still make me want to pull out the paint.

Really like the visual presentation, the colors, layout. It draws you to the focal point and the sentiments are thought provoking 😎
