This story is about two agents looking for clues to a couple of disasters. They interview a man named Martin Lorensen who was present during the disasters but got away before the actual disasters hit. When they interview him, they donโ€™t get much out of him. However, Martin slowly reveals that he did have something to do with both situations. This revelation came with a price and impacted both the agents.

What a fun story. I enjoyed the fast-paced of the writing and subtle mystery. I also liked how Martin reveals what heโ€™s able to do. I would have liked to know more about this โ€œgift,โ€ such as, where it came from, and how these โ€œangelsโ€ communicate with him. Martin doesnโ€™t say how they communicate but itโ€™s insinuated that he understood how they worked.

Who should read this book: A great short horror read for anyone who wants to give Joe Hillโ€™s writing a try, or who just wants to read a short horror story.
