Digital Layouts: Footprints & One Month

I have been spending so much time learning digital scrapbooking that I’m forgetting to cook for my family…kidding. But, seriously I’ve literally been eating, breathing, and sleeping digitial scrapbooking.  I have never in my life used Photoshop the way I am now.  I’d say, within the last couple of weeks, I went from being okay at Photoshop to a wiz.  Okay, I’m not really near a wiz at all but I can now say, I’m pretty good at it.  I’m still learning though, and that will never end.

I recently got Illustrator installed and OMG.  It is a different beast.  You’d think knowing Photoshop would make things easier with Illustrator but Illustrator is completely different.  It’s like comparing a house to a car.  The car would be Illustrator.  I’m ashamed to admit that the only thing I know how to do in Illustrator is to create a brush by using trace.  I know…I’ve got a looooooong way to go.

In the mean time, I’m proud to say that one of my digi layout (the one titled “Unique”) was chosen as a Gallery Stand Out (GSO) by the Scrap Orchard Facebook.  You can view it by clicking here.  You’ll have to scroll through their wall to find it.

And, here are a couple more digi layouts for a couple of challenges at Scrap Orchard.

This layout was created for a font challenge.  Below is the sketch template for this layout.  I don’t always sketch my templates but this one was just asking to be sketched and digiscrapped.

Sometimes, sketches take forever to come to mind and in that case, I’ll go looking for a template.  Templates could be anything from a magazine ad to a card template and even a paper scrapbooking template.  It’s whatever I see that inspires something from within.

Here’s a layout I created for a template challenge at Scrap Orchard.

Credits: “Footprints” was created using the free kit, NER, by Irene Alexeeva Designs.  “One Month” was created using the kit, Family Ties, by Tracie Stroud.  ♥
