Above is a view of the coast when we drove down to Big Sur. We pretty much ended up in the town/camping grounds of Big Sur and didn't get much of the rocky coast so we returned to San Fran. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency. It was an excellent hotel. The kids loved everything... Continue Reading →
Golden Gate Bridge and Beach Photos
The family weekend vacation to San Francisco was a lot of fun. We only went for the weekend, but it was enough. We ate at a pho restaurant, hot pot place, a pizza place, and In-and-Out Burger. We drove down the coast to Big Sur and spent a few minutes at Montara Beach just soaking... Continue Reading →
Orchids and a Lily
A couple of my orchids are dying and one is already pretty dead. I'm just a little lazy these days and forget to water them. The one that died needed to be repotted like three years ago. I kept saying I would repot, but I kept forgetting to. I still have four thriving ones so... Continue Reading →
Another Sunset Photo
This was taken yesterday evening and doesn't really depict what it actually looked like in real life. The sun was red. Somehow in photos, it's yellow with a reddish glow. I just wanted to share how easily it was to look at the sun (and take a photo of it).
Sunset
I don't watch the news that much so I wasn't aware there was a pretty bad fire in New Mexico. Husband had mentioned a day or two before that there was fire because the sunsets had been looking more red and orange than usual. This was the view yesterday evening from the car as husband... Butterfly Pavilion Nine Years Later
My youngest is starting high school this fall, can you believe it? Life can feel so surreal sometimes. It isn't just the passing of time but the way people change, the way the world has changed, and the way the world is changing. We think we know it all, but at the end of the... Continue Reading →
Planting Flowers
Planted some yellow violets and marigolds. The marigolds were from seeds so they're barely peaking out from under the mulch.
Iced Daffodils
Our last snowfall was at the beginning of this month and I took photos of the daffodils in the front yard to share photos of but never got to it. I'm pretty sure we're done with snow this month, but with Colorado weather, you never know. Credits: I used actions (Snowball, Winegum, and Sweetie) by... Continue Reading →
Photos of Fog
Earlier in the week, we got a pretty good dose of fog. We could barely see but a few feet in front of us. The photos does no justice, but you get the idea. A few hours later, we went for another drive and the fog got thicker so you can't even see the trees... Continue Reading →
Tom Yum Soup
I once tried a home hot pot and loved it so much that I decided to just make it over stove top. My favorite was the Tom Yum. I buy the paste and add some lime leaves, galanga slices (if I don't have it fresh/frozen, I use the powder), lemon grass, whatever veggies I have... Continue Reading →
