Colfax Marathon

On Saturday, husband and I went to pick up his bid and additional stuff for his marathon on Sunday. He’d been waiting for this moment so he was both nervous and excited.

Early Sunday morning, around 4 am, we drove to the site where the marathon was starting. When husband went to the start line, daughter and I returned to my car to decide what we wanted to do. It would take husband about 4+ hours to run so we took a nap and then went to Snooze for breakfast. This was my first time eating there. Daughter has been there before and recommended it. The food was amazing.

We returned to the marathon just about when husband would finish. Daughter had been keeping track of his run so that we’d time it right. There were so many people so it was hard to locate him. There was also no parking spot after we’d left the perfect parking spot we’d found earlier, so I pretty much just drove around in circles waiting for them.

Husband was so worn out he couldn’t walk too much right after so they sat for a few minutes on the grass until he felt better.

Daughter took a selfie with her dad. She was so proud of him. I’m proud too. He’d always wanted to run a marathon and he achieved it. A few years back, he signed up for it, but injured himself. I’m happy that he was able to run it this year.
