Iced Daffodils

Our last snowfall was at the beginning of this month and I took photos of the daffodils in the front yard to share photos of but never got to it. I’m pretty sure we’re done with snow this month, but with Colorado weather, you never know.

In the Yard

It’s been raining for a few days now, although, it seems the sun has come up today.  The forecast for the week should be more rain and maybe even sleet on Mother’s Day.  I actually love the rain and gray clouds.  It might feel gloomy and depressing but it makes the earth so rich and vibrant with colors.

I’ve been meaning to take photos of the plants in the yard but kept forgetting until this morning.  I’m really glad I got some nice shots.  I’m always in awe of how drew droplets randomly sit on the leaves and flowers in such a way that it takes my breath away.  I feel blessed to experience this small part of nature.  It’s something so unimportant, yet, it gives me happiness.

May Snow

I didn’t believe we could get snow in the middle of May, but it happened.  We planted four aspen trees a few days ago.  I hope they make it.

The peony was doing so well but now I’m worried.

First Snow 2013

KYSNOW1004130019_800It snowed this morning.  My daughter was anxious to go out and play before heading off to school.  It was cold and windy with snow blowing everywhere, but it was quite beautiful.

The Snowstorm

SNOW0409130014_600That snowstorm we were supposed to get earlier this week came and went without much notice.  There’s not a trace of it anywhere…except for the photo I took of it that morning.  Right now, the sun is shining and it’s gorgeous outside.

Long Awaited Snow & Tree Lights

snow12192012_0072_600It finally snowed this month.  We were supposed to get blizzard-like snow but instead, we got lots of wind and a nice dusting of flaky snow.  It’s pretty and peaceful (as always) but extremely cold.  The temperature outside is 17.8°F.

I am pretty happy this morning.  I’ve got all my work done and I can blog freely with no other stress!  It feels amazing!  Of course, this never lasts so I’m going to make the best of it before I have to get busy again.

The Christmas tree went up a week ago.  I have such a hard time decorating it.  It could be that I just don’t have enough ornaments but it always looks as though there’s something missing.

christmastree20120052_500And, it’s lopsided too.  Not sure how to fix that.  Husband and I tried whatever we could to hold it upright but we’ve agreed that it’s just the tree.  That’s the thing that annoy me with real trees + the spiders and maybe other bugs.  Btw, the red and gold baubles were gifts from my friend, Sunflowerslady.
