In the Yard

It’s been raining for a few days now, although, it seems the sun has come up today.  The forecast for the week should be more rain and maybe even sleet on Mother’s Day.  I actually love the rain and gray clouds.  It might feel gloomy and depressing but it makes the earth so rich and vibrant with colors.

I’ve been meaning to take photos of the plants in the yard but kept forgetting until this morning.  I’m really glad I got some nice shots.  I’m always in awe of how drew droplets randomly sit on the leaves and flowers in such a way that it takes my breath away.  I feel blessed to experience this small part of nature.  It’s something so unimportant, yet, it gives me happiness.

Peony On Fire

A couple of days ago, I took photos of the peony. It was just beginning to bloom in the first photo. I thought for some reason it would take a couple of days for it to fully bloom but by afternoon, it had already reached that point. The next day I took the second photo. I love how it looks like the center is a ball of fire.

May Snow

I didn’t believe we could get snow in the middle of May, but it happened.  We planted four aspen trees a few days ago.  I hope they make it.

The peony was doing so well but now I’m worried.

Morning Beauties

SPRINGMAPLETREE0020_640{This photo can also be seen at 365 Gallery for today’s theme, ‘Peaceful Moments’}

Just a few beautiful things from the yard this morning.

PEONYANT0016A couple of ants on a peony bud.  Not really a beautiful scene but just thought I’d throw it in.  I see these ants every year.  Wonder if I should leave them alone or get rid of them.  They don’t seem to be hurting the plant.
