Emma B6 Traveler’s Notebook

If you haven’t seen my video, I did an unboxing of this leather. It’s an Austen Emma B6 Heritage by Chic Sparrow. I ordered this leather notebook cover during the December 2021 sale. This leather patina’s pretty quickly. I’ve had it for about a month and it’s already darker than when I received it. It will continue to patina so I’ll revisit later this year to see how it’s changed.

I’m using this one to hold my affirmations. I go through these phases where I question doing art, but I keep returning to art because it relaxes and keeps me creative. It helps me stay focus on my goals (writing/publishing) and my family. It’s strange that way how art has that much control. Here’s my first page of my affirmations. I’m going to pull a card once a month to do a layout and some journaling.

Bujo Using Altenew Watercolor

I started bullet journaling not too long ago. I’d say, less than three years ago. This is my second official bujo notebook. I did some bujo here and there in other notebooks before going official. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to bujo so I followed a few Youtubers until I found what I needed for my lifestyle. As far as the artwork goes, I’m still working on that. Most the time I’m just tweaking from others.

I try to add my own touches like quotes. It’s not new or different. I just like flipping back and reading them. Some of them have meaning during that point of my life and others are just quotes that I liked.

Here was May’s page. For both May and June, I used this watercolor set from Altenew. Earlier in the year I learned Altenew was comging out with a pallet and it looked so pretty I had to have it.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how smooth the watercolor is to work with and by how vibrant the colors are. I’m no expert on the different watercolors, but to me, this one feels like it’s up there with the pros.

A Couple of Layouts

These are two layouts I finished yesterday. I also made a process video of the second layout and hope to share that soon. The journaling has always been the hardest part for me but when I flip through older layouts, I find that the journaling is what I’m drawn to.

Products used: Cut files by Wilna Furstenberg, ephemera by Prima, Faber-Castell Gelatos, Dr. Ph. Martin’s Hydrus Watercolors, stencils by Jane Davenport and Tim Holtz, Pentel Touch, Staedtler Pigment Pen, and Silhouette Portrait.

Digital Scrapbooking Challenge Days 13-19

This is the most I’ve digi-scrapped in my life.  Even when I was designing I never went as far as doing a layout a day.  I can tell you that I’m wearing out though.  Twelve more after this then I’m done.  I’ve got another challenge up my sleeve.  I just signed up for a sketching and watercolor art class through Studio Calico.  I’m hoping that class will help me with a project I’m working on for a friend.  I need the motivation right now.
