I’ve had this Duchess B6 for a couple of weeks now. It’s a really nice sturdy leather even though it’s quite thin. The color is a pinkish mauve. The photo is almost true to color. There is really no way to capture the true color of this leather, but it’s truly gorgeous.
This is an A5 Chic Sparrow Carroll leather in Alice. It is a deluxe which means it has pockets on the inside. The color is very close to Tiffany Blue but maybe not as bright. It’s a very soft full-grain leather. There is no shine to it. As far as scent goes, I’ve heard a lot of people say it has a strong unpleasant smell but mine just smells like leather and I have a pretty sensitive nose. Maybe I got lucky.
I love these traveler’s notebooks so much I keep buying them but I’m running out of what to use them for. The Carroll Duchess just released and I want it too but I don’t have any idea what I’d use it for at them moment. With this Alice, since it’s an A5, I’m going to use it for writing and for style sheets for book reviews and beta reading.
I purchased this narrow traveler’s notebook from Chic Sparrow and have fallen madly in love. It’s gorgeous.
I currently have a similar leather, a Mr. Darcy Lemon Drop, purchased three years ago, which has patinated to a nice darkish yellow (photos of it further down). The leather of the Dr. Darcy and Austen are exactly the same. The name was just changed (and I can’t remember why). It’s a super sturdy, non-floppy full-grain leather. It’s also flexible and smooth. I can’t resist touching it.
The color is salmon but at times it can look darker or lighter. Love the striations and the sunburst on the front. This is a one-of-a-kind and it makes me feel a little special.
Here it is next to the Outlander Fraser B6 for color comparison.
Next to the Mr. Darcy Lemon Drop B6.
7″ Kindle Fire in between.
The plan is to use it for taking notes for my fiction stories.
This pretty little thing came in the mail yesterday. It’s a Chic Sparrow B6 Slim Folio in the color Huckleberry. It is from the Crème line, which is a thick leather. The Huckleberry B6 Slim Folio is different from what I expected. I thought it was going to be thick but it’s been pressed very thin. At first look, I wasn’t sure what to think, but pretty quickly, I fell in love.
Here’s a comparison of the Crèmes I have.
I have quite a lot of traveler’s notebooks. It all started with the Midori Traveler’s Notebook which I found through the planner girls on Youtube and Instagram five years ago. What I love about the Chic Sparrow leathers is that they are super high quality. They only sell full grain leather and they have superb service. For instance, I specified smooth leather on the Brûlée and Huckleberry and they came through. I didn’t ask for anything on the Chocolate because I wanted to be surprised and what I got was gorgeous.
The Huckleberry smells devine, like walking into a leather shop.
A comparison of the Huckleberry to the Chocolate.
Wasn’t sure what I was going to use the Huckleberry for but I think I found something that I’ll enjoy doing. As a kid, I used to write down pieces of song lyrics that I loved. Back then, I simply used a notebook and markers, and that’s all I needed. Now, I like to embellish a bit.
The folio doesn’t come with notebooks or inserts. I purchased a Midori B6 Slim for this folio. It fits perfect. I’ve used an A5 Midori notebook before and liked it so it was an easy choice.
First decorated page.
I did make an unboxing video. I’m a lot new to making videos and am pretty nervous about my voice. I write better than I talk, but if you’d like to see it, here it is.
