Earlier this year I stumbled upon this music from Ryan Taubert and found it difficult to stop listening to it. I’ve been trying to write a fantasy novel about a type of fairy going extinct and this song playing in the background helped moved the story along. This song also got me hooked on Assassin’s Creed clips on Youtube. I’m not a gamer so I had no clue what this video game was about but I did some looking around and found that the stories to the game(s) are intriguing. Here is the song set to clips from Assassin’s Creed made by a fan. It’s a bit gory so if you can’t stomach it, don’t watch it. I like it for the art and graphics and music.
This was a busy month with my sister’s wedding and my daughters attending a new dance studio and my oldest daughter’s first dance performance with the new studio dancers. I didn’t get a chance to take too many photos. In fact, I don’t think I took any photos with the DSLR aside from the photos for the fauxdori I made (photos on the craft blog). I did take a ton with my iPhone though but I have yet to decide if or when I should post those.
For the random photos this month I found some memorable photos from July 2009. It was the day I took my oldest, who was 7 at the time, to a Demi Lovato concert. I got her a VIP pass so she got to get up close with Demi during rehearsal and also took a couple of photos with her. On our way home, when we got home, we were pelted with shards of rain. It was painful and we were soaked to the bones just getting from the car to the house which was only a few yards walk (running and screaming for us that night). The concert was memorable though. Daughter loved every bit of it.
Daughter took the last photo above. She was in the pit and came running back to where I was seated, yelling, “Mom! Mom! Give me your camera! Give me your camera!!” I handed her the camera and she took that cool shot.
Here’s another end of year share of some favorite music I listened to throughout 2013. This time, I’m sharing my picks from epic music. I started listening to epic music in early spring and got hooked.
1. “The Last Leaf Falls” by Lucas King
2. “Finale” by Future World Music
3. “Something to Believe In” by Epic Score
4. “Angel” by MG Music
5. “Stargazer” by Dirk Ehlert
6. “Whisper of Hope” by Gothic Storm
7. “World of Dreams” by Future World Music
8. “Away” by Shane Calhoun
9. “Breach of Trust” by Xtortion Audio
10. “Remember Me” by Ivan Torrent
It’s New Year’s Eve and I’ll be celebrating the new year with my kids and husband. We will be toasting to the new year with bubbly grape juice and making a goal list.
Earlier today, the family took some photos. Our last photos of the year! I had my 10-year-old take photos of me and then of me and her sister and then I had her sister take some of her and I. I’m sure there’s a better to say all that…LOL. Husband also joined the photo shoot in which we took a really nice family portrait that I’ve yet to do post production on.
This last one I added a radial blur with Photoshop just because I wanted to have some fun with it. It was an awesome shot because my 10-year-old captured me talking to my 5-year-old. Btw, I look pregnant in that photo but I’m not…just wanted to say that before anyone asks. 🙂
It’s the end of the year and I have my 10 favorite vocal trance to share again. Last year I linked YouTube videos from other people of my favorites. This evening, I’ve got one that I put together. I spent time yesterday and today playing with iMovie. I got frustrated at first but then persevered and got the hang of things. It wasn’t so bad after that. I actually enjoyed it a bit.
I know when you think of trance music, you think clubbing. Loud. Thumping. Noise. Not so. Well, not my kind of trance. These are soft and most are slow. They all just have really cool beats and angelic-like vocals. Even the guys’ vocals are pretty cool. I listen to trance (including non-vocals) when I’m designing .
Btw, all the photos in the video are mine. You might have seen some of them posted here earlier in the year.
Before I end this post, I wanted to thank you (my readers) for reading my blog. I truly appreciate it.
Have a wonderful eve, and a cheerful 2013!
Kida had her last orchestra performance earlier this week. She, and the rest of the group, really improved since their first performance.
We (Kylie and I…husband had a schedule conflict) sat in a spot where I thought would work great for taking photos and videos. We were in the second row from the front sitting just to the left from middle. The front row was a half row that ended to our right (with the last seat in front of the seat Kylie was sitting in) which allowed us full view of the stage from an angle. When Kida came out and took her seat on the stage, we realized that we would not be able to see her at all because there were two violinists to the right of her, blocking her from our view, but by this time the auditorium had already filled up. To add to that, two big and tall guys sat just to the right of us in the front row, blocking our view. Kylie was originally sitting right behind them but I switched seats with her so she could see and ended up recording with my camera between the two guys’ shoulders.
Here is a video of one of the songs they played.
Kida has been thinking about not taking violin this fall. She says it’s too boring. I reminded her of how excited she got when husband and I finally gave in and allowed her to switch from her guitar to violin. And, I persuaded her to stick to it but I don’t know if that was the right thing to do. I’m wondering now if I should have not given her an option and just told her she had to continue. Frustrating.
This video is pretty neat by someone on youtube named hajime1969. The song is “One Perfect Sunrise” by Orbital.
I was looking through my photos for a sunrise photo and couldn’t find too many. The last sunrise photos taken was last September when my family and I went to Maroon Bells. Guess this means it’s time to get out there early and capture some early morning gorgeousness.
I created this layout as an example for a freebie on my other blog but I think we can all use a little reminder to live in the moment.
A beautifully composed piece by Paul Cardall:
I also wanted to share some free papers I created as a Friday Freebie download at my other blog. You can grab them here.
Enjoy your weekend!
