Added to My TBR List

The other day, I downloaded eleven ebooks onto my Kindle. They were free, so why not? There were so many to choose from but I only picked these ones because anymore and I’d probably get too overwhelmed to read any. They are all sci-fi and fantasy genres and are all by independent authors. I’ve slowly shifted from reading mostly traditional to mostly indie because I find indie a little more refreshing and enjoyable these days. I still read traditional. I think I have about four traditional books on hold at the local library. It’s just so amazing to have access to all these books!

  1. I can’t wait to hear what you think of these books and kudos to you for focusing on indie authors! I have been doing the same this summer. I agree that their books seem to have more unique premises and just seem to be different than the same old same old (especially when it comes to science fiction). My recent indie find that I am super happy with is author Kim Megahee and his Marc McKnight Time Travel Adventures series (https://www.authorkimmegahee.com/). The books are good as standalone reads but I am a sucker for a good series because that means the book isn’t over when I finish it (lol)… My favorite so far has been book #4 – “Time Plague.” The premise revolves around a team of experts in time travel who must prevent an extinction level future plague. Unbeknownst to them, they are not the only operatives on the job. It really is hard to define these books with a quick synopsis, but this author really has a great mind for sci-fi and the story is awesome. I burned through all of the books in this series in a few weeks. I would definitely recommend checking it out and keeping an eye open for the next book!

    1. Thanks for commenting. Yes, I read mostly indie now but I still have a few traditionals on my tbr list to go through. I haven’t touched the books I listed yet, but hope to by the end of the year. If not, they will be what I start on first thing next year. I just downloaded 5 more indie published books today…it’s addiciting! I’ll add your recommendation to my tbr list. Thanks again for stopping by.
